Need startup office design ideas

A friend of mine is planning to get an office designed for his startup. He has around 10 employees working with him at the moment. He is in the process of hiring, though. He doesn’t want it to be too showy, but something attractive and functional.

For any office, having sufficient light (natural, as far as possible) is important. Choose an office that has lots of windows. Installing glass partitions, instead of having cubicles can increase the amount of light that flows throughout the office.

Keep the layout as flexible as possible. You’ve mentioned that he intends to hire more people. Check out some layout ideas here: https://www.hipcouch.com/magazine/layout-ideas-startup-office

I am pretty sure the people he’s hiring are young - choose flexible furniture like sit-stand desks, bean bags, etc. Multipurpose furniture is the best - it saves space and looks neat too!

Use hues like green, blue, orange and yellow - these colours are known to boost creativity, cohesiveness, and productivity - all must-haves for a startup!

Open floor plans are trending - but don’t forget to allocate some space for a ‘quiet’ nook. Not all employees may be able to work in a chaotic environment that open plan offices tend to have.

Don’t forget to add some elements of recreation and relaxation - this could be a game room, a cafeteria, or just a simple place where employees can retire to for a break!

Give the employees the freedom to add a personal touch to their workspace - Whether it’s a photo of your family or a poster of your favourite quote, adding a personal touch to their individual workstations let employees perform well.
