Should I hire an Interior Designer or a Contractor?

I want to refurbish my new home.

The interior designer has a good network of all kinds of service providers. Hence, he/she can ensure that you get what you want for your interiors, you should opt for one who can deliver an end-to-end solution.

Contractors focus on the execution of the project - based on the instructions provided by the homeowners.

Hire a contractor for service based tasks like electrical wiring, carpentry, piping, false ceilings, etc. which are focused on execution and can be done without excessive emphasis on design.

Hiring an interior designer works best for those who don’t have the time to micromanage the interior design project by themselves - once the project is handed over to the designer, the designer effectively takes care of everything.

You may also choose to hire an interior designer AND a contractor - to consult the designer for the design, and rely on your own contractors, subcontractors and the like, for executing as per the plan.
