We are expecting a baby soon and want to design a room for our infant. Can you give some tips for the same?

We want to design a room for our infant.

Designing a room for an infant can be both, challenging, and pretty simple too! To keep it simple, choose a theme - this makes it easier to choose the right colours, furniture, and other elements. When it comes to colour schemes, make sure they are warm and cosy - we all know that colours can influence moods, and loud colours might overwhelm your little munchkin!

Just make sure that the curtains, bedding, crib, storage area, etc complement the colour scheme. A combination of greys, soft pinks, and white in furniture is an undying trend.

Style is actually secondary when it comes to an infant’s room - pay attention to the more important details. Get a crib which has comfortable bedding and foldable railings. Do not install harsh lights, use dimmers or accent lamps.

Most importantly, if you have space constraints, make sure that there is enough room to add new elements, to accommodate the child’s needs as he/she grows! You may eventually need a bigger bed, and new furniture to suit his/her requirements. Space planning is very crucial.

Most important point: Baby-proof the room by covering all the electrical sockets, concealing the wires, anchoring down furniture, etc. Also, if possible, choose curved furniture - you don’t want your growing child hurting himself/herself on the pointed corners! Besides, curved furniture actually makes a room really elegant - you can opt for it for your other rooms too…

Hope this solves all your queries!
