My kids want our 2 BHK apartment to have more colours but my wife fears it will be too much

My kids want our home to be colourful, and want us to use more vibrant colours. However, my wife and I are a tad nervous about going overboard. What if our home ends up looking like a circus?

When you say colours for your home, the first thing that everyone associates are the walls. You do not have to paint all your walls in bold colours to add colour to your home. And don’t do that!

There is this 80/20 rule that designers advise about while decorating your rooms. That is 80 for neutral colours and 20 for bold. If your walls have neutral colours, then get a colourful, patterned rug or a sofa with a bright colour. You can go for bold coloured pillows as well. The other idea is to get a feature wall painted in your favourite bold colour but minimise on the other items.
